Steam generating plant, Amiens, France

The steam generating plant has a gas boiler with a capacity of 80MW. It emits fumes at 110°C resulting from the gas combustion and at a dew point temperature of 54°C. The flow rate of the fumes is 100,000m3 per hour.

The project consisted of preheating the feed water entering the plant with thermal energy recovered from the fumes. The TERRAOSAVE installation has been adjusted according to the power requirements of the plant, between 500kW and 800kW. In order to preheat the water, only one quarter of the flow of the fumes was required, ie 25,000m3 per hour.

The realized installation produces up to 5GWh/year additional. Water vapor is also collected at the chimney outlet, which removes the plume.
